Wild berry picking

Last night was our monthly Celiac meeting.  There is always some discussion, some sampling of GF foods, and sometimes presentations.  I always learn so much from others’ shared Celiac experience! For example, I learned that it’s helpful to travel with a plug-in electric cooler that can keep your safe stash of food in a car/hotel room.  What a great idea!

I sampled some of these last night!

Not bad!  I think they remind me of Sun Chips… a little bit with a less addictive and salty taste.

Today

This morning we went on a hike with a local mommy & me hiking group.  I was worried at first that the weather wouldn’t hold but it turned out to be beautiful.

We picked a pint of wild blueberries along the trail!! Little P ended up eating a ton while I was picking.  I’m so happy about that, he is becoming such a good foodie!

Lunch was a simple tuna salad salad.

Later on I went to do a workout at the gym which included about 30 minutes of cardio on the Arc Trainer and then a strength training workout on the Cybex machines.  I felt so much better after I left the gym.

  • Do you ever mess up your routine by staying up late to get things done and regret it the next day?
  • Do you have special travel strategies to keep from getting glutened?

I was reading this article earlier today and laughed out loud…not at the author…but at what a relief it was to share in a similar experience.  It might give a couple of hints, anyway, on traveling as a Celiac.

Stay safe!

  1. I love any chips made with black beans and white beans! I am not supposed to have black beans though… 😦 So I prefer the white bean chips!
